Upstream seems to somehow support vtk9: https://github.com/enthought/mayavi/pull/1159 Trying to build the package in unstable with build + runtime dependencies changed to python3-vtk9 works, and in the testsuite this fixes "FAIL: test_basic_vtk" while not causing any regressions. > Cheers cu Adrian
