With Mutter 43 XWayland windows are duplicated on external monitors. See 
upstream bugs

This has been fixed by !2624 upstream 
(<https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/2624>). It 
would be great if this could be cherrypicked to Debian. Fedora has 
already done so 
(<https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/mutter/c/5e29eea06863665ad742e54cf103ab3491ea9e81?branch=f37>).
