After some tries and the help of the Go packaging team [1] I was able to
rebuild version 1.6 (current version in Debian).
I then tried to upgrade to version 1.8.10 (or even version 2.6.0) but I have Go
errors.
I am not ready to invest a huge amount of time into learning Go.
I give up trying to package influxdb.
The package is still available for adoption.
