Did the vgamem_mb change fix the issue?

This bug is currently keeping the package out of bookworm and, if it was a user-specific issue, ought to be closed and the package reintroduced to bookworm.

I'm currently doing a full-upgrade bullseye to bookworm and this removal is a blocker for VMs.
