That is a good point.

Why not setting XDG_RUNTIME_DIR to something bening and get rid of the
warning?  For example, I see that people use /tmp/runtime-root as a
fallback.

Can you do me a favour please and check again with the latest version 1.3.3. (from "unstable" repo in Debian) or directly from our upstream github repo? I assume this is fixed as a side effect of this commit:

A better solution would be to get rid of the Qt stuff. I assume that some of the Qt stuff can be replaced by Python-inbuild features.
