If it's true that the cause is that 'tasksel' and 'gnome-initial-setup' are mismatched, then we could apply a fix in either one. Given that we have an existing patch available for 'gnome-initial-desktop', I've opened a corresponding 'tasksel' changeset with the mirrored side of the fix at: https://salsa.debian.org/installer-team/tasksel/-/merge_requests/25
