Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? This Nitro 5 laptop has a second M.2 slot and a SSSD bay. When I can get the system stable, these or the LVM partitions will mirror. In the mean time, I am installing, willy-nilly, Debian bullseye and bookworm. At some point I set these for RAID 1 in the installer, then removed the RAID before doing else. The Windows SSD (1TB) is left vanilla, or to whatever grub does with it. There was no problem at first to install bookworm into each of 4TB SSDs. bullseye will install but the reboot fails, complaining about USB. I starting to see, or rather not seeing the SSSD in the installer list but more annoyingly grub shows up only a single Debian entry to boot in and the nascent Windows SSD. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I installed bullseye into the #2 (M.2) disk (because I had a thought that it might boot with no USB devices attached). When I was left with a system with no apparent choice, I removed the M.2 with no change to the boot dialog. I then dug into the grub manual and maybe some help on the web and told grub to use the third disk which booted up in the existing bookworm testing install. * What was the outcome of this action? grub now presents only one Debian choice - the one which will not finish its booting. * What outcome did you expect instead? I expect grub to show all of the internal SSDs, at least those which are bootable. The grub manual looks like I could set this up manually. I have not tried that. If I were looking deeper, I would see if grub just never expects to see three internal disks in this configuration. -- Package-specific info: *********************** BEGIN /proc/mounts /dev/mapper/livedevil--vg-root / ext4 rw,relatime,errors=remount-ro 0 0 /dev/sda2 /boot ext2 rw,relatime 0 0 /dev/nvme0n1p1 /boot/efi vfat rw,relatime,fmask=0077,dmask=0077,codepage=437,iocharset=ascii,shortname=mixed,utf8,errors=remount-ro 0 0 *********************** END /proc/mounts *********************** BEGIN /boot/grub/grub.cfg # # DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE # # It is automatically generated by grub-mkconfig using templates # from /etc/grub.d and settings from /etc/default/grub # ### BEGIN /etc/grub.d/00_header ### if [ -s $prefix/grubenv ];
