To add to this: This seems to be upstream bug #407 fixed with upstream git commit 52fa45d4ca35e6be11ddee818eac84b768f15e22: https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-terminal/commit/52fa45d4ca35e6be11ddee818eac84b768f15e22 This was reported against Ubuntu with LP #1955505, and fixed in 1.26.0-1ubuntu2, with a backport of the aforementioned patch: https://git.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mate-terminal/commit/?id=a0d6e4951b3443ba849be12397cc02136e62b8d6 The fix seems to be, thankfully, a trivial one-liner :) Faidon
