Package: libkrb5-dev
Version: 1.20.1-2
Severity: normal

I am attempting to enable curl support in dar. dar provides a standard binary
and dar_static, which is to be used for emergency system rescues.

Curl provides a static version (.a). Unfortunately, curl uses gssapi_krb5,
which is not available in a static version. The result is an inability to
link a static program.

configure supports --enable-static. I see in the changelog that it was enabled
in Debian in version 1.4.3-5, though that was dropped since for an unknown
reason.

It looks like enable-shared and enable-static may now conflict, so it may be
necessary to build twice (as with the kmod package) to achieve this.

Thanks,

John
