Package: git-buildpackage
Version: 0.9.31
Severity: wishlist

Hi!

As discused here:
https://salsa.debian.org/salsa-ci-team/pipeline/-/merge_requests/424
it would be great to have an option to make `gbp setup-gitattributes`
mimic `gbp clone` behaviour, and only defuse git attributes when they
are present upstream. An option such as

  gbp setup-gitattributes --defuse-gitattributes=auto

Cheers!
