Package: postfix Version: 3.7.5-2 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer, Tools such has openmediavault relies on "postfix set-permissions" working.
But since Debian postfix salsa commit https://salsa.debian.org/prahal/postfix-dev/-/commit/cdce604abf0284e329bc32161757319834a6cee3 postfix set-permissions is broken as the man pages and readme files listed in /etc/postfix/postfix-files do not exists (they list <manpage>.<number> while debian compress them and add the gz extension to these files. For one this files list mail.1 while only mail.1.gz exists. $ sudo postfix set-permissions postfix: Postfix is using backwards-compatible default settings postfix: See http://www.postfix.org/COMPATIBILITY_README.html for details postfix: To disable backwards compatibility use "postconf compatibility_level=3.6" and "postfix reload" chown: cannot access '/usr/share/man/man1/mailq.1': No such file or directory The above commit removed the renaming of this manpages and readme files in /etc/postfix/postfix-files to gz files. There are other changes in this commit that are unrelated to this issue. No ratioanle was given for the removal of 05_debian_manpage_differences.diff and 05_debian_readme_differences.diff out that they are deleted "at least for now". Note that postfix-pcre is also affected cat /etc/postfix/postfix-files.d/pcre.files (...) $manpage_directory/man5/pcre_table.5:f:root:-:644 while only /usr/share/man/man5/pcre_table.5.gz is available. This is also handled by the 05_debian_manpage_differences.diff Cheers, Alban -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.0 APT prefers stable-security APT policy: (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable-debug'), (500, 'oldstable-debug'), (500, 'oldoldstable'), (500, 'stable'), (99, 'testing-debug'), (99, 'testing'), (90, 'unstable-debug'), (90, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental-debug'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-7-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages postfix depends on: ii adduser 3.134 ii cpio 2.13+dfsg-7.1 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.82 ii dpkg 1.21.22 ii e2fsprogs 1.47.0-2 ii init-system-helpers 1.65.2 ii libc6 2.36-9 ii libdb5.3 5.3.28+dfsg2-1 ii libicu72 72.1-3 ii libnsl2 1.3.0-2 ii libsasl2-2 2.1.28+dfsg-10 ii libssl3 3.0.9-1 ii netbase 6.4 ii ssl-cert 1.1.2 Versions of packages postfix recommends: ii ca-certificates 20230311 ii python3 3.11.2-1+b1 Versions of packages postfix suggests: ii bsd-mailx [mail-reader] 8.1.2-0.20220412cvs-1 ii emacs-gtk [mail-reader] 1:28.2+1-15 ii evolution [mail-reader] 3.46.4-2 ii libsasl2-modules 2.1.28+dfsg-10 ii mutt [mail-reader] 2.2.9-1+b1 pn postfix-cdb <none> pn postfix-doc <none> pn postfix-ldap <none> pn postfix-lmdb <none> pn postfix-mta-sts-resolver <none> pn postfix-mysql <none> ii postfix-pcre 3.7.5-2 pn postfix-pgsql <none> pn postfix-sqlite <none> ii procmail 3.22-27 ii resolvconf 1.91+nmu1 ii s-nail [mail-reader] 14.9.24-2 ii sasl2-bin 2.1.28+dfsg-10 ii thunderbird [mail-reader] 1:102.12.0-1~deb12u1 pn ufw <none> -- debconf information: * postfix/main_mailer_type: No configuration postfix/not_configured: postfix/recipient_delim: + postfix/compat_conversion_warning: true postfix/sqlite_warning: postfix/lmtp_retired_warning: true postfix/chattr: false postfix/relayhost: postfix/destinations: $myhostname, cyclope.prahal.homelinux.net, localhost.prahal.homelinux.net, , localhost postfix/procmail: true postfix/main_cf_conversion_warning: true postfix/kernel_version_warning: postfix/mailname: cyclope.prahal.homelinux.net postfix/tlsmgr_upgrade_warning: postfix/root_address: postfix/bad_recipient_delimiter: postfix/newaliases: false postfix/rfc1035_violation: false postfix/relay_restrictions_warning: postfix/mynetworks: 127.0.0.0/8 [::ffff:127.0.0.0]/104 [::1]/128 postfix/dynamicmaps_conversion_warning: postfix/mailbox_limit: 0 postfix/mydomain_warning: postfix/protocols: all postfix/retry_upgrade_warning:
