Source: gnupg2 Version: 2.2.40-1.1 Severity: normal In various man pages, there are many U+2010 HYPHEN characters while U+002D HYPHEN-MINUS would be expected.
For instance, for the gpg(1) man page: If you are going to verify detached signatures, make sure that the pro‐ gram knows about it; either give both filenames on the command line or use ‘‐’ to specify STDIN. ^^^ this one is incorrect For scripted or other unattended use of gpg make sure to use the ma‐ chine‐parseable interface and not the default interface which is in‐ tended for direct use by humans. The machine‐parseable interface pro‐ vides a stable and well documented API independent of the locale or fu‐ ture changes of gpg. To enable this interface use the options ‐‐with‐ colons and ‐‐status‐fd. For certain operations the option ‐‐command‐fd may come handy too. See this man page and the file ‘DETAILS’ for the specification of the interface. Note that the GnuPG ‘‘info’’ pages as well as the PDF version of the GnuPG manual features a chapter on unat‐ tended use of GnuPG. As an alternative the library GPGME can be used as a high‐level abstraction on top of that interface. Ditto for all hyphens that appear in options. Ditto in the list of options in section COMMANDS. The program name "gpg‐agent" is also incorrect. etc. The gpg-agent(1) man page, like most gpg-* ones, has the same issue. The gpg-zip(1) man page seems correct, except for <bug‐gn...@gnu.org> in section AUTHOR. -- System Information: Debian Release: trixie/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') merged-usr: no Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 6.4.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=POSIX, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled -- Vincent Lefèvre <vinc...@vinc17.net> - Web: <https://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <https://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / AriC project (LIP, ENS-Lyon)
