Well, I for one consider this a regression in the quality of the default font handling between 2.1.10 and 2.2.1, and being able to fix it by tweaking per-user settings seems like it's just a workaround. I would like to see this bug kept open and discussion continue on whether this is a regression that can be reverted, so that the meaning of medium hinting doesn't change between sarge and etch. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
