The 50-setup-hostname hook script alters the host file regardless of whether an entry already exists in the file

10-disable-tls is only really appropriate for a sarge install. Etch/sid can use 'libc6-xen' instead.
Setting the terminal type to 'console' in 30-fix-inittab disables the control keys and job control.
Do you need to do a MAKEDEV on a installation running udev?
