Package: e2fsprogsVersion: 1.47.0-2
Tried running badblocks on new Seagate 22TB drive to test before use. Command
was “badblocks -b 4096 /dev/sdh1” and got the “must be 32-bit value” error
message. According to fdisk its optimal block size is 4096. I was able to get
it to run using a block size of 8192 but most larger HDD use 4K as optimal.
There is Debian bug 764636 which relates to an earlier version of e2fsprogs so
it doesn’t appear to have been addressed.
