oops, the desktop file and the icon were forgotten when the installation
procedure was changed in 2.17.1. I will upload a new Debian package with
these files included.
The "irafcl" script is mentioned in /usr/share/docs/iraf/README.Debian;
I agree that this is not the first place to look (although it is the
canonical path for Debian specific READMEs). For the next upstream
version it is planned to also switch to irafcl (but still have
compatibility links for cl/ecl); this should be described in the
upstream release notes then. I am happy to get suggestions on how to
improve this.
