https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/issues/2723 "Crash when dragging something from a XWayland window over a Wayland one" last fix was merged upstream in https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/commit/a86900091de30715da5f2f3181cb5314358e8e13 "wayland: Set compositor when creating MetaWaylandDataSourceXWayland" ie mutter 44.1. This confirms your finding that it should be fixed in mutter 44.1 (in case this was the same bug). I don't know if this bug is present in Debian stable 43.9-0+deb12u1 but it should not be in Debian testing 44.9-1. If you have muttrer above 44.1 in ubuntu can you confirm your issue was fixed, in case your bug is another issue? If it is fixed in 44.1 and not present in 43.9 then the issue is fixed in Debian and this bug report should be closed (even if Ubuntu does not yet ship >= 44.1 as then the issue remains solely on the Ubuntu side). Could you close this report if the issue is not present in the mutter releases shjipped by Debian? Cheers, Alban
