That doesn't seem to make a difference; libinput still shows the same thing afterwards. That said, after upgrading more packages and rebooting, this problem *seems* to have resolved, insofar as "adaptive" no longer feels like the cursor is stuck in molasses. So, this can be closed as a transient issue that an upgrade resolved. - Josh Triplett
