I mostly agree, however the haskell testsuit runs very fast and I
believe it's also run in some kind of isolated environment
(I inherited the testsuite from previous maintainer, so I'm not 100%
sure about the isolation).

I'm fine with converting the testsuite in perl and/or shell but this is
time consuming for very little gain, so it's low priority for me
compared to other issues, not sure if/when it will happen.

If for someone this is urgent, I'm certainly going to review patches
for a testsuite in perl/shell; just make sure the test results are not
dependant on the system where the testsuite is run - it has to work in
your development system but also in a container like salsa autopkgtest
with consistent results.

Tagging help in case someone wants to provide patches.
