The upstream project is in MS Github which is a non-starter for me. I’ll go as far as /reading/ from the site. I’m surprised such a crippling bug has not been reported there, but I found this comment: https://github.com/cgnieder/acro/issues/233#issuecomment-1013665911 Apparently Bookworm is using the absolute latest version of acro (3.8). So from the Debian side, the acro version needs to be rolled back. I have made use of the X-Debbugs-Cc feature on this message to get the author in the loop, which I guess I should have done on the submission.
