And it disappears after downgrading the packages of gnupg2 source to 2.2.40-3. The issue about the file disappearing does not occur with "emacs -Q" (I'll have to find the exact cause). This is a more general issue, but this bug about emacs hanging just makes it much worse. I'm using (defun find-backup-file-name (fn) (list (concat "~/.poub/" (file-name-nondirectory fn) "~"))) and there's actually a backup there, but this should be regarded as very temporary, as I sometimes clean up this directory. Files should never expected to be *only* there.
