Given that 2 years have passed with nothing has improved, and that the package 
maintainer had
zero activity in Debian, I propose to remove the package after all. There's no 
reason to keep it
if both package maintainer and upstream original author are doing nothing. On 
the other
hand, no other Linux distributions are providing package megadown [1].

As a result, I plan to submit the package removal request to Debian FTP Masters 
15 days later
(after Jun 15, 2024) if no one objects.
