Package: contributors.debian.org Severity: normal X-Debbugs-Cc: ti...@debian.org
After a contributors talk in debconf24, a DD came to ask why they were listed three times as a poster in Debian mailing lists. The answer is that currently the system will add an entry for each email address, each one with their specifics dates of begin and end. However, given that the email is hidden for the public, one can't guess if this is a feature or a bug. For instance: https://contributors.debian.org/contributor/abhijith/ It actually happens for many other data sources. I'm not sure what would be a good solution, but maybe having a more compact view for the public and a more detailed view for the user when they're signed in? I mean, for the general public, I don't think it's relevant to split one's contributions by email address. I believe that saying this person has contributed to bts (or mailing list, or whatever) from date X to date Y is enough, regardless which email (or which other identifier) was used.
