Hi. As an experiment, I tried that and managed to remove all "proper-compiling" 
errors.

The error which happens at the end is actually a linking error.


I suspect the best solution is to not use flags from dpkg-buildflags at all.


According to the above, maybe you can still use dpkg-buildflags for CFLAGS and 
CXXFLAGS
instead of not using dpkg-buildflags at all.
