Package: debmirror
Version: 2.42
Severity: minor

Dear developer,

debmirror uses rsync to download trace files, even when using HTTP download method. So to avoid errors we have to use rsync_extra="none", which results in a warning every time the script is run.

I know that not replicating trace files is a bad idea, but in the case of a network which can reach the Internet only through an HTTP proxy, this behavior is annoying.

IMHO it should either try to mirror the trace files through HTTP (if it can get a index of the trace/ directory), or set by itself rsync_extra="none" and disable the warning when download_method is set to anything other than rsync (or at least disable the warning when the user sets rsync_extra="none" and download_method to something different than rsync).

Thanks in advance :)

Regards,
