bin:dhcpcd does run as a service, since it ships the init script and systemd unit, and launches the dhcpcd binary as a daemon. I purposely package these separate precisely to avoid the issue you mentioned. bin:dhcpcd-base doesn't run as a service. It merely provides the binary and exit scripts. Martin-Éric
