Dear Maintainer,

I intend to salvage the make-dsfg source package and the associated
make-doc-non-dfsg package, which have been effectively unmaintained
for over four years. There have been no non-NMU uploads since June
2020 and no BTS activity since May 2020.
https://bugs.debian.org/1029106 requesting an updated package (for new
upstream releases published in October 2022 and February 2023) has
had input from a number of people but no maintainer reaction.

I haven’t discussed this with Victor, I wanted to get the salvaging
clock ticking; but if Victor is still interested in maintaining the
package I will gladly act as sponsor. I’ve reviewed the updated
packaging at https://salsa.debian.org/viccie30/make-dfsg and it seems
mostly fine to me; I’m updating it to include the upstream 4.4.1.

See
https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/pkgs.en.html#package-salvaging
for details on the salvaging process. You have 21 days to approve this
change or object to it; if that delay expires with no reaction on your
part, I will upload an updated package to the delayed queue with a
seven-day delay. With no reaction on your part I will replace you as
maintainer, adding any interested co-maintainers.

Regards,

Stephen
