Package: python3-deprecation Version: 2.1.0-2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
I used apt to install python3-deprecation which installed version 2.1.0-2 per apt-cache. When I tried to install a pip package that uses it as a dependency, pip read the manifest as having version 2.0.7. I checked using dpkg -L python3-deprecation and got: /usr/lib/python3 /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/deprecation-2.0.7.egg-info /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/deprecation-2.0.7.egg-info/PKG-INFO /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/deprecation-2.0.7.egg-info/dependency_links.txt /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/deprecation-2.0.7.egg-info/requires.txt /usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/deprecation-2.0.7.egg-info/top_level.txt This seems to be the wrong egg file, as I would expect 2.1.0-2.egg-info. -- System Information: Debian Release: 12.8 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 6.1.0-28-amd64 (SMP w/16 CPU threads; PREEMPT) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_WARN, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE not set Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages python3-deprecation depends on: ii python3 3.11.2-1+b1 ii python3-packaging 23.0-1 python3-deprecation recommends no packages. python3-deprecation suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
