Package: powersaved Version: 0.12.18-1 Severity: normal Michael,
I'm using a Dell Latitude D600 with acpi. When using the "ondemand" I get the upper and lower freq's set to the same value, thus the governor never switches up or down values: dell:~# cpufreq-info cpufrequtils 002: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2006 Report errors and bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED], please. analyzing CPU 0: driver: centrino CPUs which need to switch frequency at the same time: 0 hardware limits: 600 MHz - 1.60 GHz available frequency steps: 1.60 GHz, 1.60 GHz, 1.60 GHz, 1.40 GHz, 1.20 GHz, 1000 MHz, 800 MHz, 600 MHz available cpufreq governors: ondemand, userspace, powersave, performance current policy: frequency should be within 600 MHz and 600 MHz. The governor "ondemand" may decide which speed to use within this range. current CPU frequency is 600 MHz (asserted by call to hardware). To fix I have to force the upper limit to what it should be: dell:~# cpufreq-set -u 1.6G Then the system performs as expected: dell:~# cpufreq-info cpufrequtils 002: cpufreq-info (C) Dominik Brodowski 2004-2006 Report errors and bugs to [EMAIL PROTECTED], please. analyzing CPU 0: driver: centrino CPUs which need to switch frequency at the same time: 0 hardware limits: 600 MHz - 1.60 GHz available frequency steps: 1.60 GHz, 1.60 GHz, 1.60 GHz, 1.40 GHz, 1.20 GHz, 1000 MHz, 800 MHz, 600 MHz available cpufreq governors: ondemand, userspace, powersave, performance current policy: frequency should be within 600 MHz and 1.60 GHz.
