no, this is likely due to this commit:

By default, this maps a query for "sid" to "unstable" which you do not have
defined. You could try renaming your "sid" schroot to "unstable" and if it
works, then that is indeed the bug.

Yes, it seems related to the handling of aliases.

In case this happens to somebody else, there is a simple
workaround: I added "aliases=unstable" to the schroot snippet
and then it worked again.
