Like Luke, I think I would be fine with this as well. However, I
stopped thinking through of the possible negative consequences because
the trixie soft freeze is tomorrow [0] and it would be unlikely to get
approval now.

If it helps, once trixie is released, 5.2 can enter unstable and thus
be shortly available in trixie-backports.
