Hi, GNU Make now has a --shuffle option that simulates non-deterministic ordering of target prerequisites. See https://trofi.github.io/posts/238-new-make-shuffle-mode.html and also previous work in Debian by Santiago Vila: https://people.debian.org/~sanvila/make-shuffle/ This package fails to build with make --shuffle=reverse. This is likely to be caused by a missing dependency in debian/rules or an upstream Makefile. More information about this mass bug filing is available at https://wiki.debian.org/qa.debian.org/FTBFS/Shuffle Relevant part (hopefully): > gcc -L../lib/.libs -I../include -g -O2 -Werror=implicit-function-declaration > -ffile-prefix-map=/build/reproducible-path/gyoto-2.0.2=. > -fstack-protector-strong -fstack-clash-protection -Wformat > -Werror=format-security -fcf-protection -Wdate-time -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 > -I/build/reproducible-path/gyoto-2.0.2/debian/include -I../include -fPIC > -DPLUG_IN -I. -I/usr/lib/yorick/include -Wdate-time -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 > -I/build/reproducible-path/gyoto-2.0.2/debian/include -P > -DGYOTO_NO_DEPRECATED -I/usr/include/flint/ -c -o ywrap.o ywrap.c > /usr/lib/yorick/Makedll:7: update target 'gyoto.so' due to: target does not > exist > /usr/bin/mpicxx.openmpi -L../lib/.libs -I../include -Wl,-z,relro -Wl,-z,now > -fPIC -shared -o gyoto.so gyoto_utils.o gyoto_Metric.o gyoto_Photon.o > gyoto_Scenery.o gyoto_Screen.o gyoto_Idx.o gyoto_Spectrum.o gyoto_Astrobj.o > gyoto_ThinDisk.o gyoto_Spectrometer.o gyoto_SpectroComplex.o > gyoto_SpectroUniform.o ywrap.o -L../lib/.libs -lgyoto -lxerces-c -lcfitsio > -ludunits2 -lm > /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lgyoto: No such file or directory > collect2: error: ld returned 1 exit status The full build log is available from: http://qa-logs.debian.net/2025/05/05/shuffle/reverse/gyoto_2.0.2-6_unstable_reverse.log If you reassign this bug to another package, please mark it as 'affects'-ing this package.
