It had wrong permissions: -rw------- 1 root root 13134 2006-06-19 04:25 /var/lib/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg Then I run this as root: chmod ugo+r /var/lib/texmf/web2c/updmap.cfg And after that I was able to run updmap as (l)user. And then I was able to use those URW Grotesk -fonts in my LaTeX-docs. BTW my bug may be related to this: dvips -z -Ppdf -Pwww -Pcmz -Pamz -Poutline -Pcm-lgc -Phfbright -Pcm-super -G0 -j0 -f -t a4 -D 1200 -Z -o ${BASENAME}.ps ${BASENAME}.dvi dvips: warning: no config file for `cm-lgc' This is dvips(k) 5.95a Copyright 2005 Radical Eye Software (www.radicaleye.com) ' TeX output 2006.06.19:0505' -> bugdemo.ps <tex.pro><alt-rule.pro><texc.pro><8r.enc><texps.pro><hps.pro>. <ugqb8a.pfb> <marvosym.pfb>[1] [2] [1] [2] [3] [4] <head.tmp><body.tmp> Why it do not find config file cm-lgc ? Should I make separated bugreport about that? That dvips is from teTeX, not from TeX Live. -- Juhapekka "naula" Tolvanen * * http colon slash slash iki dot fi slash juhtolv ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Anulle kukaan ei sanonu suoraan ettei ole olemassa vanhaa pirihuoraa."
