Package: vim-gui-common Version: 1:7.0-017+7 Followup-For: Bug #370082 In the new version of the vim packages, only one buffer appears when opening a file: URL. However, the result is still quite unsatisfactory: Now it seems vim thinks it needs to look for a file in the directory called "file:///the/path/", instead of a directory called "/the/path/".
So, if I type: vim file:///tmp/test.txt I get: "file:///tmp/test.txt" [New DIRECTORY] in the status line, and if I try to write the file, I get: "file:///tmp/test.txt" E212: Can't open file for writing -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: powerpc (ppc) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-2-powerpc Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages vim-gui-common depends on: ii vim-common 1:7.0-017+7 Vi IMproved - Common files Versions of packages vim-gui-common recommends: ii vim-full 1:7.0-017+7 Vi IMproved - enhanced vi editor - -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
