Hi Paul,that was an unexpected side effect of the removal of all pipelines. And since none of this were left in Debian, I am afraid that there is no simple fix except making the autopkgtest superficially trivial.
The real solution would be to somehow create a minimal pipeline (or recipe) on-the-fly or as an extra package and use that for the test; but that is not a quick solution, and I support moving this to after the Trixie release, keeping the package in Trixie.
