Hi, I just updated libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 packages to version 2.42.12+dfsg-4
again and could launch gthumb fine.

What image are you trying to view with it?
I can open JPEG and PNG images successfully with gthumb, using
gdk-pixbuf 2.42.12+dfsg-4, on amd64.
