A trigger would be great! I would be much more likely to contribute
runit service directories to other packages if it didn't introduce a
runtime dependency that maintainers may find less appealing.

Do you think you'll be able to get that into forky?

(I wonder if we can also trim the number of metafiles that need adding?
It can double the number of lines in the list of files in a small daemon
package.)
