Okay, obsolete was a bad choice. More like redundant.

I now implemented a debconf solution. This means that I determine
the array needed for root at (re)configuration time and then prompt
the user to confirm. If I cannot determine the device (if mdadm -E
fails on the device /proc/mounts reports for /), I fall back to all,
which the user then can change.
