Package: xpdf Version: 3.04+git20250304-1+b1 Severity: important Hello,
I have been using xpdf to read PDF files for decades. However, after upgrading my monitor to 4k display with wider color-gamut, started Xorg with 30-bit color depth (DefaultDepth 30 in '/etc/X11/xorg.conf'). 'xdpyinfo' also reports: depth of root window: 30 planes Most of the other softwares I use displays without any problem. However, 'xpdf FILE.pdf' only shows a Black page where the document pages are supposed to show up. Given that most of the present era monitors support 10-bit colour for R/G/B, more and more people are going to be hit by this bug. Therefore, I marked it as 'important'. I checked for an updated version. xpdf home-page (https://www.xpdfreader.com) shows the latest version is 4.06, which I download for Linux 64-bit, and installed as an user in my home-directory. It displays pdf files on my 30-bit display without any issue. Therefore, updated xpdfreader works fine. However, all versions of Debian is still using xpdf release 3.04. Hence, to fix this problem, I suggest Debian xpdf package maintainer to backport xpdf-4.06 through its source-code for Stable and Testing version of Debian.
