I've just installed papers on Trixie. I get this in xterm on GNOME on GDM on 
X11:

$ papers my_great_document.pdf

The document itself seems to show up fine, though I have not checked all the 
details. From a user's viewpoint, these warnings/errors are garbage taking up 
precious terminal lines.
