Thanks for the report. Indeed between OpenJDK 21 and OpenJDK 25, on armhf, the JVM has been changed from the “server” version to the “zero” version (whatever that means). The logic at the top of debian/rules in src:octave deals with those various cases. As a consequence, a rebuild of octave will be needed on armhf when the Java 25 transition occurs. However, as far as I understand the situation, this is a Ubuntu- specific problem for now, since the Java 25 migration has not been started in Debian.
