Ack, indeed it's a leftover, but not early days of packaging, but because up until recently we were using quilt to apply and remove patches during build to allow having libcurl built with multiple ssl backends. Since a couple years ago it's not needed anymore. I've added to vcs and will go in the next upload in ~10 days. Thanks for reporting it. Cheers, Charles
