Thank you so much for reaching out about this package! It has been my intent for a while now to orphan the package, but have not so far for lack of time. I actually have a local Git repository with history going back quite far. It is structured for gbp, with the conventional branches master, upstream, and pristine-tar. If you would like to create an empty repo and let me know the location, I can push the history, including all the signed tags that I have made. Your help is very much appreciated and I would be most glad to see bmagic start to receive better attention than I have paid to it the last few years.
