Hey,

what do you mean by kde games fails to launch on the kde plasma desktop? Can 
you share the exact protocol how you come to this conclusion? How you did that 
on the gnome desktop?
kde games is a meta package without any data except the list of games. The 
games in itself are independent from each other.

I can see the game in the start menu and can start at least some of them ( 
haven't check every game). So from my point of view there is no issue ;)
