'lo Petter, in fact, my remark about "not being sure how things got to this point" was a direct reference to the developer's decision to stop contributing packages, which is the root cause and a regrettable state of affairs. Of course, I am aware that Debian operates largely on a voluntary basis and that certain programs are way more complicated to maintain than others. However, not everyone wants or can commit the time to engaging with bug reports, especially when there are so many distros out there that don't suffer from the same problem. Happy to hear things are moving on IRC, wish I had the time to hang out, best wishes to the new guy for a satisfactory resolution. Cheers!
