It is difficult to strike a good balance. Rather often, I sent a more comprehensive patch (to other maintainers) and got an angry reply that I was doing too much. So I tend to err on fixing the one thing that really is broken and not touching other pieces. Another angle is the success rate. For packages where the maintainer lets my patches sit for years I tend to invest less into patches than for packages where the maintainer quickly responds with comprehensive feedback. Again, I am left in the dark as to whether you are intending to add the foreign flag to the other multilib packages yourself or whether you are asking me to update the patch. If you were able to more timely feed back what changes you want about my patches, the submitted patch quality would probably improve. Helmut
