Daniele Forsi submitted a pull request [1] to the upstream Git repository to fix the issue. I converted his commit into a patch forthe Debian package (with due credit to Daniele), available as a merge request at the Salsa repository (in case the package maintainer does not wish to wait for a new upstream release).
