Dear Maintainer, LibreOffice Impress often does not save all slide background images in .odp files. (Saving to .pptx works correctly.) Create a new presentation. 2. Add two slides (making a total of three slides). 3. Label the slides "S1", "S2", "S3", in order. 4. On each of the slides, use the menu "Slide > Set Background Image..." to set a different image for each slide's background (e.g. images of the numbers 1, 2, and 3). 5. Use the menu "File > Save" to save to a .opd file. 6. Use the menu "File > Save As..." to save to a "Open Office XML Presentation" .pptx file. 7. Close the presentation. 8. Open the .pptx. 9. Open the .odp. Expected results: The .pptx and the .opd files open and appear the same, with the correct background images as set before. Actual results: The .pptx has the correct background images as set before, but at least one of the .opd file backgrounds is duplicated from another slide. Analysis: In a case where all three slides had the image from slide two, extracting the .odp as a .zip file reveals only one image listed in "META-INF/manifest.xml", and present in "Pictures". Perhaps this is some loop or indexing problem when Impress serialises to .odp. Incredibly infuriating to write a presentation with dozens of different, carefully selected, backgrounds, only to find that they've been replaced.
