Hi I have spent some time looking at this, and to be honest I'm leaning more and more towards that this software isn't solid enough to be distributed.
There is multiple reports of unsoundness and undefined behaviour in it's issue tracker: https://github.com/Xudong-Huang/generator-rs/issues Since it's mainly used for loom, which is a testing framework, I guess the risk for exploitation is minimal, so I'm also not inclined to totally drop it, the test coverage is useful after all. I had a slop machine generate some assembly to support more of our architectures, if upstream agrees with the slop, and noone else have a bad feeling about shipping the unsoundness in Debian, then I can have a go at packaging the new versions.
