I tried to reproduce this with Cinnamon 6.6.9 from unstable, Thunderbird 140 ESR and Firefox ESR 140: with Firefox on another workspace, the first click on a link in Thunderbird opens the tab and switches to Firefox's workspace every time. Can you still reproduce it with Cinnamon from trixie or a newer version? If so, please tell us if you use Firefox profiles or any non-default window settings.
